International Music Expo (IMX) is an initiative that gathers together professionals, creators and audiences from the creative and tech industries. The 2021 edition includes a conference, showcase and an expo and runs online throughout 11-31 October.
Italia Music Export supports three exceptional Italian artists selected for IMX’s official showcase: Kharfi, Ash Code and Julie’s haircut.
The acts will be streamed live on October 20, in primetime.
Kharfi is one of the youngest producers on the Italian EDM scene, whose track “Hei Bae” topped the Italian iTunes Dance Chart, MTV Italy Dance Chart and Spotify Viral Chart Italy. He has opened up for artists like Skrillex, Steve Aoki and Martin Garrix.
Ash Code‘s music is a mixture of darkwave, noise and electronic music with a solid drum machine. Dark ballads and obsessive beats, deep and melancholic synths, noise and distortions, arpeggiators and delays.
Julie’s haircut is a band active since late 90’s with a long history of sonic otherworldliness. Their last record is notable for its deft balance between hypnotic radiance and extrasensory intensity, between beatific calm and palpable anger.
