HER SKIN

her-skin

Genre: Indie Rock, Pop

Her Skin is an Italy-based fragmentary girl and folk-rock singer songwriter made of love letters never sent. Her real name is Sara and she has a thing for very sad lyrics combined with delicate and light-hearted melodies. Four years after her debut album “find a place to sleep”, Her Skin just released her sophomore album “I started a garden” via WWNBB, an album that deals with the mess of being in your 20s, feeling lonely and nostalgic and out of place and not really knowing where you belong. “While writing this album I was just waiting for myself to become myself again” says Her Skin, “but I learned that everything you bury is a seed”.

BIG SEA

Genre: Post Punk, Garage

BIG SEA are born in Bologna, Italy in 2020. The band consists of Francesco Bortolini (guitar & vocals), Davide Trimboli (bass) & Francesco De Giulio (drums). The first release is an EP, a freak wave that denotes the will to run away from daily monotony and from the established path with sound founding on the 90s grunge and moving then from post-punk to garage. The lyrics are a yell against the status quo and the realisation as betrayed generation from the career expectations.

Fri 10 MARCH – Arlene’s Grocery – 8:00 pm
Sat 11 MARCH – Pianos (Upstairs) – 1:00 pm

KOKO MOON

koko-moon

Genre: Dream Pop, Rock

Costanza Delle Rose is known for being on the scene with Be Forest, band in which she writes lyrics, sings, and plays bass, and with which she toured extensively from the US and Mexico to all of Europe and Russia. After moving to London during a year of immense changes in her life, Costanza found fertile ground to bring to life her new project, KOKO MOON, a deeply reflective expression of her most sincere self, with no artifacts or filters to protect her. KOKO MOON is Costanza’s soul out in the open, brave enough to experiment with sound and new lyrical approaches, and free to be fragile and vulnerable to her feelings. After posting an unannounced video for the song “I Want to Be” in the spring of 2021, KOKO debuted with a 7 track album by the metaphorically on-point title “Shedding Skin”, released on October 17, 2021. She recently released a new tender and ethereal single called “Sleep Demons”.

BIG MOUNTAIN COUNTY

big-mountain-county

Genre: Psych Rock, Post-Punk

Big Mountain County is a psychsexrock band based in Rome, Italy. In just a few years the band has earned international acclaim for their European and UK tours and participation in festivals such as ESNS, Fusion Festival, Binic Folks Blues Festival, SZIGET Festival and Rome Psych Fest, where the press unanimously declared them “best live band 2016”. After having published their first LP “Breaking Sound” in 2015and the live album “Anachronicle” the year after, in 2020 the band released its second studio LP “Somewhere Else”. We’re talking killer riffs side-by-side with soaring vocals and synths that color midnight melodies. The songs range from personal narratives to journeys down an existential abyss – all of them carried by heart-felt grooves. In January 2022, Big Mountain County released a new EP “Klaus”, with three original songs and two remixes signed by Al Lover, cult name of the international psych scene, and Hugo Sanchez, cult Rome-based DJ and producer. The song “The Klaus Crossing” has been included in the Spotify worldwide editorial playlist “All New Rock”.

GIUNGLA

giungla

Genre: Alternative Rock

Italian artist Ema Drei is GIUNGLA (meaning ‘jungle’ in Italian). In this sort of tangled-happy-place, minimal pop songs with an in-your-face attitude have come alive: imagine them discovered this way, as if they were torn and shredded into a million pieces fighting a battle of mixed emotions inside herself. GIUNGLA is rapidly developing a reputation for her breath-taking and visceral live show: she’s played alongside The xx, Foals, Grimes, Franz Ferdinand, Mura Masa, Let’s Eat Grandma and Battles while being invited to play at numerous festivals across Europe and North America. After collaborating on a couple of singles with producer Luke Smith (Depeche Mode, Foals, Anna Of The North), she teamed up with Andrew Savours, known for his work with My Bloody Valentine, The Kills, Black Country New Road, and she’s currently working on her album.
